Ministry Update

Prayer Letter – October 2012

19 November 2012

Dear Faithful Supporters,

The past several months have been quite busy with traveling, hurricanes, preaching, and teaching in the schools.  It has been exciting to watch the Lord as He works to provide for our family’s every need.  Not only has he given us meetings without having to call a single pastor, but He used a hurricane to provide extra food for the pantry!  We were in Alabama finishing up a Sunday meeting, when we realized that we would need to head home and prepare for hurricane Isaac to hit.  Isaac brought the worst flooding that our area of Louisiana has ever seen!  Many people lost everything, but the Lord took care of our family as only He could do.  Though we faced the inconvenience of no electricity and loss of all refrigerated and frozen foods, God used that hurricane to provide us with more than double the amount of food that was lost.  God sure does work in mysterious ways!

MEETING PARENTS

The second week of October was “Fair Week” in Livingston Parish.  Knowing that Bro. Jerry Purtell would have his Creation trailer set up, our family decided to go see if we could be of assistance.  It didn’t take long for the students that I teach in school to realize that I was there, and spread the news to their friends.  Unfortunately, it was sad to see many of the people we invited to get on the video trailer turn us down as soon as they realized that the video was about God and His Creation!  Though very few people showed any interest in what we were offering, I did have an opportunity to meet some parents of the students that I teach.  One young lady, who is now a senior in high school, was very excited to finally introduce her parents to the “Tater Man”!  It is so neat to see how a simple nick name combined with the lessons that we teach, can make such an impression in the lives of young people.  On November 13th I will have a chance to speak with the entire Senior Class at the Holden SchoolThis will be the first time I have had this opportunity, so I ask that you would keep it in your prayers!

AN UNSPOKEN PRAYER REQUEST

We would like to thank each of you for the many times that you have prayed for our family, and for the continued prayers that you bring before the Lord on our behalf!  We know that it is the faithful prayers of Christians like you that move the heart of God.  It is with that knowledge that we ask you to please pray for a specific request.  Although I am not at liberty to reveal what exactly the request is, I humbly ask that you pray for this need as an “Unspoken”.  Once again, we thank you for your faithful support and continued prayers!

In His Service,
The Decker Family
