Prayer Letter – July 2011
Dear Praying Friends,
Once again the summer months have quickly gone by! Since the beginning of May, our family has traveled over 6,200 miles to accomplish the work God has called us to do. We’ve had the opportunity to present the ministry in quite a few new churches, which we pray might soon become new financial supporters! We do thank the Lord that though many churches might be facing financial issues, we have not experienced a great deal of lost support. However, with the additional responsibilities that we have taken on in the ministry and the extra traveling that this requires, we are in great need of seeing the remainder of our support raised soon! We have been at about 84% of our needed support for the past few years, but it is vital that we reach the 100% mark. Please pray that the Lord will help us see this goal reached very soon.
PRISON SERVICES AND SUMMER CAMP
Around the first part of May, I had the privilege to help our church hold a preaching service with the inmates at Avoyelles Correctional Facility in Cottonport, LA. We saw an excellent attendance of about 150 – 200 inmates, with 3 of them stepping forward to receive Christ as their Saviour!
The end of May started the annual week long S.M.I.T.E. Camp, where my wife and I teach each year. During that week we were able to help about 350 young people hold 67 Bible Clubs each day. As a result of these Clubs being held, 1,561 children heard the Gospel with 447 professions of faith!
FAMILY NEWS
All is well within the Decker household, and the Lord has blessed us beyond what we deserve! The girls are growing like weeds, and with every birthday they make my wife and I feel “OLD”. Katie has lost her two front teeth, and can now claim the famous “Christmas” song as her own. Victoria is as hyper as ever, but with constant guidance and a little “persuasion” we are looking to point that energy toward serving the Lord! Liberty is growing up in many ways. Though she is the baby girl, she proves just how smart she is on a regular basis. All three of the girls are getting ready for this year’s school work. They are so excited to start school, but I am praying for my wife. She’s going to need all the help she can get! With all the traveling that we have done in the past several months, it is nice to be home for a little while. However, we are already preparing for our next trip to Tennessee and the ROA Home Office. Please continue to pray for our family, as we serve the Lord!
In His Service,
The Decker Family
