Prayer Letter – July 2010
Dear Praying Friends,
It’s hard to believe that the 2010 summer is almost over. Time is flying by and there is so much to do! The last week of May and the first week of June we spent time helping Bro. Jerry Purtell with SMITE Camp in Louisiana. There were about 250 teens (not counting adults) at that summer camp. During one of the night services, I was able to present out ministry and encourage the young people to reach their generation. Later that week, in one of the classes, a girl gave testimony that the Lord had burdened her heart to work with teens in America like we do. I was also able to talk to several pastors and youth pastors about reaching into their public schools. One preacher scheduled a meeting with us to present the work at his church, and talk some more about the character Under Construction materials. He is now ready to go through the training classes, and is excited about the opportunities that await him! Also during that week of holding 5 day clubs, over 1,000 children heard the gospel and more that 500 excepted Christ as their personal Savior. The Lord truly blessed us through that summer camp.
SUMMER TRAVELS
The past couple of months have been full of traveling. We spent part of June and most of July going to church meeting throughout the states of Ohio, and one stop in Michigan. Many people were truly excited to here about the work we are doing in the public schools, and some are even preparing to go through the training classes. This is a great blessing considering the need this ministry has for helpers. Over all our meetings went very well, and each church was a blessing to our family! Please pray with us that the meeting we have has this summer will produce some much needed financial support. Before leaving Ohio, we attended the Rock of Ages national conference which was held in Massillon, OH. The meeting was excellent, and the fellowship was much needed! The last two nights of the conference were especially exciting. As the Lord began to move, the alter began to fill up before the preaching was finished. Some younger some older, age did not matter. How refreshing it was to witness the moving of the Holy Spirit in that manner.
PREPARING FOR SCHOOL
Now that we have arrived back home, it is time to start preparing for the upcoming school year. In the next few weeks I will be meeting with the public schools and at least one private school in our area. Please pray for wisdom in scheduling these schools, and teaching each lesson. I am also preparing to help a couple of these schools with their Bible Clubs, which could lead to some great preaching opportunities. Please pray with us as these events unfold. Thanks you in advance for your prayer!!
In His Service,
The Deckers
